Afro pop and beat musician Miss Erica’s Art is definitely higher up the notch following her great selection into AfriMusic Song Contest 2020 finalists. KING – In my Heart, a song where Miss Erica feaures Sat-B Satlight is the lucky hit that has gotten her there into this level.

The AfriMusic Song Contest is the first and biggest music competition digitally recognising and awarding outstanding African music acts.

Born Erica Irakoze in 1993, to Burundian and Rwandan parents, Miss Erica grew up in Bujumbura. A talented singer who wants to break through the boundaries of Afrozouk music, Miss Erica embarked on a musical career after high school in Kigali, where she grew up. She made her musical debut in 2011 as a member of the Kora Entertainment label in collaboration with Best Life Music. Inspired by religious hymns and school choirs, she handles with dexterity melodies and sensual rhythms with complex sounds to shape a beautiful music. She has several titles to her credit, including numerous collaborations with the rising generation of local artists such as Sal-G, Sumi Crazy, Sat-B and Lacia Bad Gyal. In 2016 Miss Erica formed a duo with Lacia and collaborated on a song with Burundian Superstar Sat-B titled “Joto”. Many of Miss Erica’s earlier songs were in the dancehall genre but following the release of “Angalia” in July 2017, where she was featured among Kiwundo artists Vampino, Rabadaba, Diplomate and Milly, she has emulated diversity in craft.

But her song Mon Amour, published in 2018, took off with in the Burundian charts, there by usherin her four nominations in Buja Music Awards and victory as Best Female Artist.

At the end of 2019, she unveiled In My Heart with Sat-B in an afropop style before coming back in February with Give Me Love. In My Heart, which counted over 90K views on Youtube also is on rotation on TRACE Africa as well as in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. Burundian singer has been invited for appearancs in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, Rwanda. Recently, singer has appeared on Black TV and Siren Vibes TV to speak about her Afrimusic journey.

Since I came back to my hometown, I struggled keeping up with my music all alone without help. This song is the first project I have done under my new management and I was so excited and couldn’t wait to release it. I was overjoyed by the critics and my heart practically froze when I got the news of my nomination in AfriMusic Song Contest 2020
