With Rwandan events increasing each year, the more they welcome in more foreign talent to headline most events. Most headlining Artists of big events like musicians and comedians are from with in the region, or beyond across the continent.
With this, most Rwandan Artists rarely perform beyond boarders, yet when they do, it is due to demand by specifically the Rwandan diaspora, which worries some fans in Rwanda.
“But this is changing,” explains Deejay Pius. “I have before been invited, and performed for Ugandans, Charly and Nina too, and of late has been The Ben too, which makes me believe that our talents are steadily being recognized,” he explains.
The Agatako hit maker explains how it isn’t easy, since Rwandan Artists still need to work harder, to produce music which can increase their fan base, which is considered by most event organizers.
With this, he advises how through collaborative projects, local artists can capture and grow their fan base.
Deejay Pius, who is also organizing the launch of his debut album in August this year, has recorded regional collaborations with Uganda’s Jose Chameleon, Radio of Good Lyf and of Ray Signature, Burund’s Big Fizzo yet promises more.
