Uganda-
Showing on April 25, from 7pm at Goethe Zentrum in Kampala will be the film The Spirit of the Forest, another film expedition for film lovers.
In less than a hundred years, half of the world’s tropical forests have been destroyed. With the destruction of their habitat, everywhere in the world forest peoples are endangered.

The Spirit of the Forest
“The spirit of the forest” gives voice to a people of traditional hunter-gatherers of the African rainforest driven out of their ancestral land by logging, who claim their right to live in their natural environment – their “source of life”.
Despite their specific situation, the Baka raise universal and vital questions that concern us all and are particularly relevant in the present historical context: they raise the relationship between man and nature and between human groups faced with the unbridled exploitation and increasing scarcity of natural resources.
Combining a testimonial, poetical and musical approach, this cinematic poem whispers so to say “Listen at me, as much but not more as you listen at times to the rain or the wind.”
