Having garnered critical acclaim for their debut production, “How to Have an Affair,” SFA received six nominations at the Kenya Theatre Awards and won the prestigious Best Two-Hander category in 2022.
Directed by the talented Nyokabi Macharia and Nice Githinji, Graveyard Queens: Legends Edition,” features an iconic cast with over 100 years of combined experience, including seasoned theater practitioners and a new generation of performers.
The production takes audiences on a journey that revolves around the lives of three African women who have experienced the loss of their husbands. The story delicately explores their path to healing, offering a witty and captivating perspective on the universal conflicts faced when moving forward after the loss of a loved one. What sets this production apart is its unique blend of aesthetics, with the set and costumes transporting viewers to Nairobi in the 1960s. This homage to the fashion, music, and ambiance of that era adds an intriguing contrast to the contemporary lives of the characters in 2023.
