  1. Mary Twala had her first casting role in 1963. Directors later took her on for her unique delivery, which spanned for 57 years.
  2. Mary Twala has starred in several Television and feature film projects including Generations‘ first season, Sheila’s Day, The Game, Yizo Yizo, Taxi to Soweto, Mapantsula among other projects, which have touched many lives.
  3. Mary Twala’s last casting was is This is Not a Burial, its is a Resurrection,an upcoming Indie movie, which has bagged numerous awards from across prominent festivals.

4. In her life time, for her career, Twala has received numerous accolades including; The Golden Horn of the Best in a Tv Comedy at the 2015 South African Film and Television Awards, Best Support Actress nomination at the 6th Africa Movie Academy Awards

5. She was married to the late legendaru Comic Character Ndaba Mshefene Mhlongo, and they both had one child Somizi Mhlongo in 1972.

6. Twala died on July 4th this year, at Netcare Park lane Hospital, on the same birth date of her late husband Ndaba.
