While the young generational music to the world was initially stirred by 2 Face (2 Baba), a few years into the lane has been a new spark of talent sprouting from West Africa, while from these Davido, Tiwa Savage and Mr.Eazi are currently shaking up the Billboard.

Hailing from Nigeria, the musicians have had a real grip to the Afro-Beat genre, hence modifying it to magical sell out craft. This has not only captured local or continental masses but further captured global audiences through huge streaming platforms and sold out tour concerts.

While Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Fela Kuti set a real historical footprint into the musical sphere, yet more like Paul Simon, LadySmith also held althe banner so high, Wizkid first stormed the Billboard as One Dance (a song he recorded with Drake) was a catch to many, but not long were Davido, Tiwa and Mr.Eazi, who have continuously make tremendous stitches through the music them.

With the Billboard terming them as the ‘A-list Taste makers,’ their craft has attracted global music management and record labels like Sony, Universal and Warner into realisation and investment into them.

Tiwa is undoubtedly proving herself more as the Afrobeats Queen. At 40, the Lagos based act landed a major deal of being signed to Universal Music Group (UMG) and Motown Records following her successful grooming through Nigeria’s Marvin Records. The songwriter, with great experience is further working on her fourth album entitled Celia due later this year.

With a career spanning a decade, Davido has spanned beyond just his continent, but to further filling venues in UK. He is working on a new EP which will feature his newly signed talents.

Mr.Eazi’s influence too is undoubtedly a charm for many. With both Nigerian and Ghanaian backgrounds, this gave birth to Baku Music, which has not only cut through the African scene, but paved way to global platforms too.

Mr.Eazi

In 2018 he founded emPawa, a talent incubation hub which raise $300,000 to aid 100 artists from 11 countries in song video projects costs. He is also working on an EP which will feature Major Lazor and Niki Minaj. (Additional info from Billboard)
