South African acclaimed fashion designer Laduma Ngxokolo was one of the chief guests and panelists who graced the Museum Rietberg Zürich, Switzerland where he joined other fashion icon, and altogether presented an in-depth talk on African fashion.
The event, which took place late last month featured guests of the African fashion talks: Bea Trace Angut by Fashion Africa Now, designer Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa by Laduma and Silvia Bing (Chief Redaktuerin of Annabelle) as well as the many guests who visit the talk, whose questions were enriched.

The day’s core topics were ” How do you define African fashion at all? Must be the designer from Africa, the material or must be produced in Africa?” best would be the fulfillment of all three criteria, which is not always easy. And ” Where is the future with African fashion?”

Museum Rietberg ZürichAs discussed in the talks, African fashion is not a trend, but takes more and more. Designer Laduma, with his label MaXhosa by Laduma which emulates “Made in Africa” is of high quality fashion that can compete with the great designers- as Made in Africa is on the rise.
