Taking place from July 14 till July 16 at the Kigali Amphitheater, the Ubumuntu Arts Festival is set for a clear kick off.
With Rwanda being the host to the festival, this year brings with it vast Arts features through performances from countries Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Lebanon, Iraq, Belgium, India, South Africa, USA, UK, Nigeria among others.
This year’s theme being ‘Art Meets Technology; Bringing Stories of Home to Life‘, the festival hopes to bridge vast gaps, which have for long stayed unanswered,
“Stories deserve to be carried and shared. With Ubumuntu Arts Festival, art will leave legacy to young generations,” -Hope Azeda, the Festival’s Curator.
“I’m impressed by local participation in this year’s edition. There are many young and talented people from Rwanda who will perform. It’s very encouraging,” she added.
Adam Kalespris from B.R.I.D.G.E, a theater project collaborating with Mashirika (BRI-MASH), emphasizes the role of every individual to promote humanity and disregard differences.

During a Press Conference in Kigali
“As shared humanity, we should all come together and embrace our differences from around the world.” Adam states.
Cementing firm grounds for its uniqueness amongst the African and entire world festival industry, the Ubumuntu Arts Festival is dedicated to the sensitization of the world about Ubumuntu (Humanity)- with all presentations crafted for the audience to ponder on the true definition of Humanity, and the how it has been stained.
