After its successful premiere on September 17th at Helios Theater in Germany, Our House a new theater presentation by group of Rwandan Actors and their Germany counterparts comes to Kigali.
At the Kigali Public Library, the Rwandan premiere took place on the 6th November 2016 .
The Play
Directed by Barbara Kölling and Carole Karemera of Ishyo Arts Center, Our House is a house’ a co-production with Helios Theater from Germany.
Our house is a theater play poses questions of home and house in a time where people are sometimes forced to leave theirs, building new lives and new relationships in different countries, with different cultures The play is a sharing of memories between the comedians and the audience. Memories of houses morph into thoughts of home, of home country, identity and community. Our house is also the stories about houses, where people lived, that were abandoned and lost. Our House is in mainly in English (80%), with some texts in German, Russian, French.
