A rare gesture the East African Art trend takes on. As the world gets more familiar with Art forms like live painting and Graffitti, Modern Intellects
is a work that visual artist Timothy Wandulu recently premiered in Kampala, a Ugandan capital, which introduces a new wave.
Not the ordinary at exhibition, but the showcase is one which is run on timing. Its premiere is one which took place amidst real tensision as by then, Uganda’s #FreeBobiWine campaign took toll, which last month aroused several strikes.
Alongside these strikes, the Artist further installed several pieces. Using models, who wear a local charcoal stoves, and stand on the street, it more attracts any passer-by for these stoves seem releasing smoke, also another technique.
Hailing from Rwanda, Wandulu is a diverse creative known for his craft. Having worked on several projects in Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the artist’s recent trend seeks to more engage audiences into real debate.
