As a new ongoing development for the Rwandan, and the East African film industry is partnership being weaved amongst Rwanda, Ghana and Nigerian film makers.
Following the visit of Zack Orji, a well accomplished actor, Dean of Nollywood and Board Executive of Nigerian Actors Guild, together with Prince Richard Nwaobie, CEO of Nonstop African Entertainment (NAE), a Ghanaian based USA producer, who held a workshop with local filmmakers in Kigali, it was revealed how Nonstop Entertainment is to establish its regional offices in Kigali, Rwanda, which is geared towards bridging the Rwandan and regional film industry with the entire African film industry.
“This is a great opportunity for the development of our skills as local film makers, since the industry has been faced by several challenges, which have for long hindered its development, which the workshop will address,” Willy Ndahiro, a Rwandan Filmmaker, the founder of Hillywood Actors and Models Agency(HAMA).
This move will see realization, recognition and grooming of local, Regional and continental film makers, which will enhance joint film collaboration through acting, distribution and sales.
With the African Union gaining more prominence, a need there is for various Arts sectors to match this advancement,
“The government people at the political level have created the African Union. What we are currently creating is an African Union for film,” explains Orji.
Having worked on two projects; one in East Africa, then one African. The last project casted people from 10 countries, and a crew from 4 countries, yet the new project, which is the latest is to incorporate over 12 African countries, with Rwanda inclusive.
