The Secret of Happiness

Directed by Mutigandawa Nkunda, The Secret to Happiness (Ibanga ry’urumunezero) is a story about the enduring cultural conflict between the traditional and modern society on the place of a woman in Rwandan society.

The Black Star Film Festival, which is on its sixth edition, seeks to illuminate the global black experience by showing films by and about people of African descent from across the world. The festival is an outlet for often-overlooked cinema by emerging, established, and mid-career directors, writers and producers working in narrative, documentary, experimental and music video film making.
